MY MARTIAL ARTS JOURNEY

CONFIDENCE TO BEGIN.SO MUCH MORE TO DISCOVER.

My parents first enrolled me in martial arts to help me build confidence and learn to protect myself. About 18 years later, I am a fourth-degree Black Belt, and training has become a part of my life that means more to me than I could have understood when I started.

My passion grew along the way. I discovered how much fun training could be, how often its lessons helped me outside the Studio, and how much the people beside me mattered. The friendships and sense of family I found gave me so many reasons to keep coming back.

Now, I get to help children make discoveries of their own. I love being part of a place where students can work hard, feel supported, and begin to see what they are capable of.

MY FAVORITE PART OF TEACHING

THAT MOMENTIT FINALLY CLICKS.

The understanding is new. The effort that got them there deserves to be celebrated.

My favorite moment is seeing that lightbulb go on. A child has been trying their hardest to understand something, and suddenly it makes sense. I love watching their expression change as they realize, “I can do this.”

Those moments are part of why I care so much about teaching. Alongside their martial arts skills, students are learning to be responsible and caring: to take ownership of their effort, treat others with respect, and recognize that their choices can make a difference.

We have the opportunity to help shape the people our students are becoming. That is a meaningful responsibility, and it is one of the things I love most about being an instructor.

CONTINUING TO GROW

A STUDENT, TOO.IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE.

I am currently in graduate school, working toward becoming an ABA therapist. ABA stands for applied behavior analysis. Continuing my education gives me another way to explore how people learn and how thoughtful support can help them develop new skills.

Being a student while teaching keeps learning close to my own experience. It reminds me that understanding takes time, questions matter, and encouragement can make a challenging moment feel possible.

STRENGTH & WELL-BEING

Taking care of my body.

Outside of martial arts, I enjoy lifting weights, exercising, and taking care of my body. I value having time to focus on my own well-being and keep challenging myself physically. It is another part of making growth a regular part of my life.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

Making time for things I enjoy.

I also enjoy caring for plants. Alongside the energy of teaching, training, and graduate school, it is a quieter interest that gives me something different to focus on. It is a small part of my life outside the Studio that I love.

I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU

A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT.A NEW POSSIBILITY.

I hope your child finds something here that makes them excited to learn, whether it is a new skill, a friendship, or the pride of sticking with a challenge. I look forward to encouraging their effort and celebrating those “I can do it” moments along the way.
